The work is devoted to the study of the role of sonography in the diagnosis of purulent arthritis of the sternoclavicular joint (SCJ) and the choice of treatment tactics. A prospective single-center study was performed, which included 28 patients with acute nonspecific arthritis of the SCJ and its complications. In the study of the results of ultrasound scan of the SCJ, 3 sonographic variants of the lesion were identified: exudative, destructive with synovial hyperperfusion, destructive with synovial hypoperfusion. The sonographic criteria for the diagnosis of SCJ arthritis, which have been developed, allow to verify the diagnosis and choose the optimal treatment tactics.uk_UK
