Використання платформи Memrise для організації самостійної роботи студентів з дисципліни "Українська мова як іноземна"

Abstract

Організація самостійної роботи студентів в умовах інформаційного суспільства та стрімкого технологічного прогресу має особливе значення для підготовки спеціаліста, здатного до постійного самонавчання та підвищення кваліфікації. Спираючись на студії О. Гречановської, І. Іванової, Н. Кравець, Т. Полонської, Л. Тюпті, Л. Черчатої та інших педагогів, окреслено специфіку самостійної роботи як складника навчальної діяльності у сучасних ЗВО, підкреслено необхідність залучення інноваційних та ігрових технологій навчання. Мета статті – визначити особливості навчальної платформи Memrise та її потенціал для організації самостійної роботи студентів з дисципліни «Українська мова як іноземна». Платформа Memrise містить більше 70 розроблених курсі з української мови як іноземної, призначених для англомовного контингенту. Завдання орієнтовані передусім на вивчення нових слів, об’єднаних у рівні за тематичним принципом (“Essential Ukrainian Words & Phrases (A1/A2), “Colloquial Ukrainian”, “Duolingo” Vocabulary Course (updated)”) або за поширеністю і частотністю вживання (“Ukrainian ~20k Words Ordered by Frequency”, “1. Ukrainian: Nouns I”, “Ukrainian Top 1000 Words [+Audio]”). Основними видами завдань є вибір відповіді у тестовій формі, укладання слова або фрази з фрагментів, введення відповіді на клавіатурі. Викладач може рекомендувати студентам окремі рівні чи цілі курси, які відповідають програмі вивчення дисципліни, або ж завдяки зручному інтерфейсу розробляти власні, адаптовані до потреб конкретної аудиторії. Граматичний аспект вивчення української мови як іноземної представлений фрагментарно, потребує подальшої розробки, однак можна адаптувати вправи на словозміну до інтерфейсу платформи Memrise і використовувати її для закріплення граматичних тем. Платформа Memrise забезпечує можливість додавання аудіо та відеоматеріалу, що сприяє вдосконаленню фонетичної компетентності. Залучення навчальної платформа типу Memrise до організації самостійної роботи студентів з курсу «Українська мова як іноземна» забезпечить закріплення матеріалу у довготривалій пам’яті завдяки циклічності та повторюваності завдань, а ігрова форма посилить мотивацію та інтерес до навчання. The organization of students’ independent work in the conditions of the information society and rapid technological progress is of particular importance for the training of a specialist capable of continuous self-study and professional development. Based on the studios of O. Grechanovska, I. Ivanova, N. Kravets, T. Polonska, L. Tyupta, L. Cherchata and others pedagogs, the specifics of independent work as a component of educational activity in modern higher education institutions are outlined, the need to involve innovative and game learning technologies is emphasized. The purpose of the article is to determine the features of the Memrise educational platform and its potential for organizing the students’ independent work in the course “Ukrainian as a foreign language”. The Memrise platform contains more than 70 developed courses on Ukrainian as a foreign language, intended for the English-speaking students. Tasks are primarily focused on learning new words, grouped into levels by thematic principle (“Essential Ukrainian Words & Phrases (A1/A2)”, “Colloquial Ukrainian”, “«Duolingo» Vocabulary Course (updated)”) or by prevalence and frequency usage (“Ukrainian ~20k Words Ordered by Frequency”, “1. Ukrainian: Nouns I”, “Ukrainian Top 1000 Words [+Audio]”). The main types of tasks are choosing an answer in the test form, putting together a word or phrase from fragments, entering the answer on the keyboard. Teachers can recommend individual levels or entire courses to students that correspond to the study program of the discipline, or, thanks to the convenient interface, develop their own courses, adapted to the needs of a specific audience. The grammatical aspect of studying the Ukrainian as a foreign language is presented in a fragmented way, it needs further development, but it is possible to adapt word change exercises to the interface of the Memrise platform and use it to consolidate grammatical topics. The Memrise platform provides the possibility of adding audio and video material, which contributes to the improvement of phonetic competence. The use of an educational platform such as Memrise in the organization of students’ independent work in the course “Ukrainian as a foreign language” will ensure that the material is fixed in the long-term memory thanks to the cyclical and repetitive nature of the tasks, and the game form will increase motivation and interest in learning.
