Global perspective of gingivitis in Ukraine

Abstract

Oral cavity diseases are very common and occur in 80% of children and almost all adults. Pathological processes are most of an inflammatory nature. According to statistics, inflammatory gum diseases - paradontitis and gingivitis - affect at least half of Ukraine's adult population. According to some reports, the prevalence of these diseases in Ukraine is twice as much as in the US. Statistics of these diseases is terrifying. 61.2% of adults in Kiev have these diseases. Without adequate treatment, the diseases progress and lead to tooth loss. Infection existing in the oral cavity, with untreated paradontitis penetrates the entire body and causes a number of diseases, such as cardiovascular diseases, diabetes mellitus.
