Abstract
The groundbreaking discoveries of the last few decades in the field of biology and medicine revealed the role of active forms of oxygen, like superoxide radical, in the pathogenesis of neurodegenerative diseases, heart disease and atherosclerosis. Proceeding from this, the vital task of medicine and pharmacy is the development of rational methods in order to create new substances with powerful antioxidant properties.
