The meaning of medical reductions and abbreviations in ukrainian language

Abstract

In this article, we are talking about the meaning and basic function of abbreviations in medical terminology, their role in communication, work with medical literature and the teaching of English-speaking students. The author highlights the main difficulties encountered by doctors, teachers and translators during the abbreviations transfer from English into Ukrainian. У даній статті висвітлюється значення і основна функція абревіатур в медичній термінології, їх роль в комунікації, роботі з медичною літературою і навчанні англомовних студентів. Автор виділяє основні труднощі, що виникають у лікарів, викладачів і перекладачів при передачі скорочень з англійської мови на українську.
